Outkast’s Big Boi gives puppy to 5-year-old girl paralyzed in shooting

Atlanta’s WSB-TV reports that Big Boi, one half of the rap duo Outkast, presented a pup to Abriya Ellison on Thursday from his dog-breeding business Pitfall Kennels. Rapper Big Boi has given a puppy to a little girl who was paralyzed from the waist down after being shot earlier this year. The five-year-old said she was “born ready for a puppy.”
The multiple Grammy Award-winning Big Boi, whose real name is Antwan Patton, put out a call on his Instagram account earlier this week to try and find Ellison’s family. Patton and his brother said they will cover the puppy’s vet bills and agreed to pay off Ellison’s medical bills not covered by her GoFundMe page and renovate her bathroom to make it handicap accessible. 
Ellison was hit by gunfire while playing outdoors in a bouncy house at a birthday party in April, in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting.
